We're Getting....

We're having a ceremony on the land in Thornhill, Scotland, on Saturday 2nd May, ceremony starts at 12pm.

If the weather turns wild, we'll postpone to the next dry weekend in May. We’ll keep a close eye on forecasts and have a decision by 25th April (1 week before hand) at the very latest.

We had our first date here in 2020 on the land, the local village is Thornhill, Dumfries, Scotland.

Please keep this location private before and after your visit. We consider the land a sacred space, and we ask that there be no uninvited guests.

RSVP using this Form, this will help us keep information in one place, give us time to allocate parking and camping pitches and reduce any pre-wedding confusion. 

You can start filling this in now and update your answers any time up to 24th April. We'll send a reminder 2 weeks before the big day if any information is missing.

Our guest cap is 50, as both space and resources on the land are limited. Please only include additional guests in your RSVP if we’ve already spoken with you about them.

We welcome camping on the land in a tent, van, caravan or car. Just let us know on your RSVP so we can allocate a pitch for you. If you're camping, we suggest arriving by Friday 1st May to settle in.

If camping isn’t your thing, no worries! Thornhill offers plenty of charming inns, cottages and Airbnbs,  

We especially recommend Templand Cottages, which is a 10 minute drive away with a private pool and Jacuzzis, perfect for a cosy stay nearby. 

Scotland has a zero-tolerance approach to drink driving. 

Rabbies Cab are a very small local taxi company, you'll need to pre-book this a few days beforehand:  07842142590 

There's a small local bus which stops next to the land and goes to the nearest village, Thornhill (Left) and the town, Dumfries (Right) but we suggest driving or getting a taxi as the bus can be unreliable. 

If you're camping, you must be fully self-sufficient as we are off-grid. The local village is Thornhill with a handful of shops, including a SPAR and Co-op plus a bakery, cafes and other amenities.

Our wedding buffet from 2pm is plant-powered, inspired by Mediterranean flavours, and all the yummy pickles, preserves and a range of foraged food that we love. 

Feel free to bring a plant-based dish if you're able to contribute. Please keep it plant-based so everyone can enjoy the buffet. Gluten-free options are also available, just put this requirement on your RSVP.

Our homemade wine and other drinks will be chilled in tin baths filled with ice. Help yourself anytime, there's a separate bath for shared items, so bring along your favourite beverages to keep cool. 

We’re embracing an eco-friendly lifestyle on the land with compost toilets and a very simple shower room on site. 

There are standpipes for water, which can be used for washing, but you'll need to bring drinking water (we recommend at least 2 litres of water per adult, per day) or a water filter.

Moonfull View is our camp, the kitchen is small, and it’s part of our home. It’s not open for guest use at any time.

We’ll collect and reuse wine bottles near the tin baths and we'll have separate bins for recycling or general rubbish.

There is no bin collection so you must take your personal rubbish home, or use the nearby recycling centre, which is just a 5-minute drive away towards Thornhill. Use postcode DG35NN - Book here.

Be fully present with us during the ceremony, we want to see all your beautiful faces rather than your phones. 

We'll have a photographer snapping special shots, and we’ll be recording the ceremony with an old-school VCR. You’re welcome to grab it after the ceremony to capture short videos and messages.

We’ll also have disposable cameras dotted around for some fun, candid snaps. And just a heads-up, no drones on site, please.

Children are very welcome and we want them to enjoy the big day too, so it's important to add their names and ages to your RSVP. 

We've hired a team of professional wedding nannies to provide optional childcare, keeping children aged 2-12 years old entertained. Howell will have his own nanny, Mia, watching him during the day.

The tent will be near the marquee and full of fun, music, cushions, crafts, lawn games, and plenty of activities to keep the children happy while you enjoy the celebrations. 

You can drop off and pick up your child at any time between 5 - 9pm.

To keep things safe and simple, they're using a personalised bracelet system:

• Parents and children will each have matching bracelets.
• If the nanny is wearing the matching bracelet, they are responsible for the child.
• If the parent is wearing it, the child is back in their care.

We kindly ask that drop-offs and pick-ups be kept to a minimum to avoid confusion.
 

To help cover the cost of the nannies and activities, we’d be grateful for a cash contribution of £20 per child. 

This way, the children get a safe, fun evening, and you get to relax and enjoy the celebration!

Please no pets during the wedding ceremony. Dogs on leads at all times.

May Day, also known as Beltane, has long been linked with weddings, love, and new beginnings. 

Traditionally, it’s a festival full of colour, and flowers, so we’d love to bring that Spring spirit into our day.

Wear bright, bold colours if you’d like, and a flower crown or something floral. We want to add as much vibrancy to the wild beauty of the land.

There's limited resources here, so arrive fully self-sufficient:

• Camping gear (tent, bedding, chair, torch, dishes and drinkware etc)
• Enough bottled drinking water or a water filter
• Weather-appropriate clothing 
• Appropriate shoes if you're going on walks nearby
• Toiletries & sunscreen

Our wedding is not a venue, it's our home and a sacred healing space close to our hearts. 

Please help us honour it by:

• Respecting the land and its natural beauty
• Being conservative with the water
• Using only the designated fire pits (main and base camp), BBQ, and pizza oven. No extra fires unless above ground and self-contained
• Keeping fire safety top of mind all weekend, especially around kids
• Not inviting last-minute guests
• No dogs during the wedding and by keeping dogs on leads at all times on the land
• Cleaning up after yourself, taking rubbish away and emptying your own waste
• Keeping the location private, don’t share details or location pins online or on social media
• Being mindful of posting pictures of the children attending, strictly no photos of Howell on social media 

Thank you for helping keep this space clean, safe and special.

Sound travels on the land, to make sure everyone rests well, especially the little ones:

• Quiet hours run from 9:00pm to midnight every night
• After midnight, please keep noise away from other camps and be mindful of others
• The main fire pit aka Felix is the perfect spot for late-night chats, music and full moon watching if you’re up for it

If you want to arrive early or stay late on the land, just let us know on your RSVP. 

Directly across from the land entrance, we recommend exploring Crichope Linn, a stunning gorge and waterfall walk, the first half of the walk is child-friendly, and the second is down a narrow path. We recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothes and hiking boots with grip!

After the wedding, check out Moniaive Folk Festival Festival, the weekend of 10th May 2026, just 20 minutes drive away. It’s a lovely, family-friendly event with camping, live music, Saturday parade, and a warm community vibe. No tickets needed, it is pay-as-you-feel, around £20 per day. 

We kindly ask for no gifts, as we have very limited space for presents at home. 

What would mean the most to us is any support, whether that’s watching Howell as we cook and with set-up on Thursday and Friday, bringing along a plant-based dish to the marquee on Saturday morning or helping us pack down in any capacity before you leave. Any help is much appreciated.
