We met under a full blue moon in the charming town of Hebden Bridge.
Little did we know that this meeting would mark the beginning of an extraordinary adventure.
We spent our first year together falling in love with the natural world, learning about the edibility and medicinal properties of plants, trees and mushrooms. Capturing our foraged edibles in jars, wine bottles, pickles, and pots of dried herbs.
Exactly one year later, on Sunday 31st October 2021, we held our first official wine tasting at our local pub in Mytholmroyd. We shared the beauty and flavours of nature's bounty with friends and family as Moonfull.
Today, we host a range of winemaking, preserving and foraging experiences, workshops and retreats.
These events are not just about indulging in delightful food and beverages but about sustainably embracing the natural world. Our events are 100% plastic-free, with all items being compostable.
Furthermore, we believe in giving back to the environment that nurtures us and the reason we donate 50% of our company profits to green initiatives in the UK.
We are honoured to support The Forest Ridge Project in Scotland, a cooperative that strives to preserve and restore the precious woodlands of our beautiful country.
To mark our anniversary of meeting and establishing Moonfull, we organise an annual family-friendly party named the Woodland Masquerade in Hebden Bridge to celebrate our journey. We donate 100% of profits from this event to green initiatives.
But our commitment to nature extends beyond financial contributions..
Since January 2022, we've offered FREE Foraging Experiences around Hebden Bridge welcoming up to 21 participants per session.
We wanted to create an inclusive event, catering to people of all ages and mobility levels. It warms our hearts to see families, children, and even our furry friends, joining us on these foraging adventures.
To make the experience even more engaging, we provide a foraging booklet for participants to write in. We encourage sketching and photography to capture their discoveries and share the knowledge with their loved ones.
We strongly discourage any harvesting during our walks and no eating is allowed. Our priority is embracing the natural world, leaving no trace behind.
For our little ones, we've created a game of foraging bingo, which changes seasonally, ensuring that the joy of learning and connecting with nature starts at an early age.
But our journey doesn't end here. We have big plans for the future. We are committed to developing more outdoor and well-being-based events for our community and beyond.
We want to create immersive experiences beyond foraging, incorporating storytelling, music, art, and British folklore elements into each event.
By intertwining these cultural threads, we believe we can deepen our connection to nature and forge an even stronger bond with our surroundings.
Moreover, we are eager to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organisations who share our passion for sustainability.
Together, we can expand our reach and create an even greater impact on the world around us.
Thank you for reading and may the moon shine brightly upon us as we embark on this remarkable journey together.

A green initiative is a project or plan intended to help protect and celebrate the natural environment.
This means increasing efforts to support energy efficiencies, improve air quality, increase water conservation, higher concentration of waste avoidance, increase recycling streams, enhance social justice, and engage in environmentally friendly practices.
At Moonfull, we are passionate about helping others move toward a loving, greener, and more sustainable future.
We will always donate 50% of company profits to those who want to join us in creating a better world.
The Forest Ridge Project is a community-led initiative in Thornhill, Scotland. It's about more than just planting trees - important as they are. It is also about growing food, camping, arts and education.
We're currently developing ideas for arts and education projects, focused on the land and nature, such as storytelling, music, and painting workshops.
We joined the co-operative and have vowed to support this initiative as we believe it is a place where people can make a difference for the future of the planet and their well-being.
Calder Community Cares is a non-profit organisation in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire that helps refugees, families and people in poverty in the Upper Calder Valley.
They provide food parcels, hot meals, clothing, toiletries, household items, furniture, toys, books and more. They also offer befriending, counselling, advocacy and signposting services.
In October 2022 we raised over £1300 for Calder Community Cares and topped this amount up to £2000 for Meadowbottom Allotment Group.
Meadowbottom Allotment is a community group based in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, a space to learn and share skills, connect with others and enjoy activities outdoors
Money raised from the first Woodland Masquerade went towards improvements to the allotment space.
RSPB Old Moor is nature reserve in Barnsley that is home to a variety of wildlife, such as birds, butterflies, dragonflies, otters and water voles. They offer nature trails, bird watching, wildlife gardening, family activities and educational programmes.
In July 2023 RSPB got in touch with us to collaborate and we developed the Nature Trail and Wild Tales with Moonfull event, where participants can explore the reserve and learn about its history and stories.
South Pennines Park is a proposed national park that would cover the South Pennines area in Northern England, encompassing parts of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
The park would aim to protect and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the area, as well as promote sustainable development, tourism, recreation and wellbeing.
In April 2023 we collaborated with South Pennines Park to deliver a bespoke Foraging Experience afternoon to Maundy Relief, a charity based in Accrington.
St Nicks York is a charity that works to create a greener and more sustainable city. They manage a nature reserve and an environment centre, as well as run various projects and activities related to wildlife, well-being and waste.
They started as a group of volunteers who transformed a former landfill site into a thriving habitat for plants and animals.
In October 2023 we collaborated with St Nicks to provide a Nature Trail and Wild Tales event at their Autumn Fayre fundraiser.
